I’m so glad I didn’t wait until last minute to start my philosophy term paper. I wrote up the larger bulk of it during the weekend, and just finished it. I feel so much more relaxed since I didn’t procrastinate. But wait! Smooth sailing is not ahead. There’s still finals! =(

Everytime I go to psych class, I know I will learn something dark about our nation. My teacher tells us about all the hormones, chemicals, and harmful agents that are in things we eat, drink, and use everyday. I’m afraid to use deodorant because of the aluminum. I’m afraid to eat KFC because of all the extra estrogen pumped into the poor little chickens. I’m afraid to drink bottled water. I went to Target yesterday to purchase a polycarbonate water bottle because I’m so afraid of my usual poland spring!

I heard that students in another CUNY logged onto the server to register at the same time, and the server froze so the students had to register the next day. I was so scared the same thing would happen to me, so I went to Psych class Monday, took the quiz, and cut the rest of the class! I got out of the station 5 minutes before 12, and panicked. I ran all the way home. I turned on two computers in case one of them froze. I couldn’t get onto eSIMS until a half hour later, but I was still able to register for all the classes I wanted. Yay. So I didn’t have to look like an idiot who seemed in a rush to go potty =(

Ok, so today a bunch of people were supposed to celebrate my friends birthday. They all made the dinner right after Prayer Meeting at church, so it was sort of like you had to go to church to catch the group. My friend and I don’t go to prayer meeting but arrive in front of the church even before the scheduled meeting time. They were all gone! So we called people, giving them the benefit of the doubt, thinking they were still around Elmhurst. They were all already at the freaking restaurant. This guy who’s there already says someone will come right now to pick us up. Fifteen minutes later, I call again to see where the driver is. Turns out no one left the restaurant yet, because they called someone else to come pick us up since it was “along the way”. OMG You don’t know how angry I was. It was already 10:45, and my friend and I starved ourselves because it was supposed to be a big dinner. Every restaurant around was closed, but we finally found one and settled. They were going to come pick us up, but I wouldn’t have gone anyway, because I wouldn’t be able to sit at the same table with a bunch of hypocrites who asked me to come and then decided we weren’t important enough to wait for.

Registration

I have a problem that’s be bugging me ever since I got my registration appointment. It’s on a Monday at 12:00. I have a class on Monday from 11:10 to 12:25 with a quiz in the first fifteen minutes. What I’m worried about is that the classes I want will be full by the time I get to a computer. What I’m considering is taking the quiz and then leaving, but the professor gets really pissed when someone leaves. So I don’t know what to do.

Revising three essays is a hard thing to do, especially when your mom is painting the ceilings and she needs to open the windows to air the smell out.

Tonight is Bubble Tea Night at church. I missed out on last years, so I’m really excited about it!

Things

Things that I consider milestones which I have not yet passed:

- Get my driver’s license : I keep imagining myself behind the wheel of a car, (even dreaming it,) but I never make time to go to the DMV to get my permit. Plus I’m afraid I’ll fail the written test.

- Get my first real job : I’ve worked off the books and volunteered, but I haven’t received a check with my name on it from a real job where I have to pay taxes or something like that.

- Move out : To move out, I need money. If I need money, I need a job. I hate the neighborhood where I live, I hate my loud neighbors, and I hate the poor construction of the building I live in, so I can hear people walking upstairs. It’s very hard for me to sleep at night, so it’s even worse with all the racket. That’s why I need to move out.

There should be more in the future.

GER requirements

Believe it or not, I actually enjoy looking through the undergraduate catalog. I was checking out the classes that satisfy the GER requirements, and came upon some very interesting ones. I really want to take a course on Egyptian archaeology or art, or Greek mythology, but I don’t think they will be useful when I graduate. I know college is a chance to explore your options, but what if your options don’t get you anywhere? I’m interested in a lot of things that don’t go together.

Today is especially cold.

I considered not going to school today because I didn’t feel like spending up to an hour to and from school to go to only one class. But I am ape for good grades so I went.

I realized I stopped using the planner I got from the school store. That’s kind of weird, because in high school I jotted down everything in my planner. Now I list whatever is due for one week, erase, and repeat for the next week on my dry-erase board. I put check boxes next to assignments because I feel good when I check stuff off.

The black pen that I’ve been using since the beginning of the school year is not working! There’s still 75% of ink in the litte ink tube. I have other pens, but I feel like this is an omen of some sort.

Idleness

FYSH was cancelled today, so I had an hour gap between philosophy and statistics. Ate pumpkin cake, not pie, but it was still good. Then I find out that our statistics teacher is running an hour late. If I had the balls to just leave, I could be at home eating and tv’ing. But I have a stats test so I have to wait. All I can do is go on facebook or look at clothes. This is so unproductive. I forgot my book, so I can’t even read.
